Are these books available in a digital edition?

No. Not currently. None of the Adakin Press titles are currently available for any digital eReader. We are working on The Cine Lens Manual, but that’s still in progress.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We ship to nearly every country around the globe, there are restrictions based on United States trade policy, please check with info@bookbaby.com for specific information.

Are these books available on Amazon?

Currently only The Cine Lens Manual is available on Amazon. Our other titles are only available directly from us or authorized resellers such as theasc.com, bhphotovideo.com, ducloslenses.com, filmtools.com, cvp.com and biofilms.cz.

Are any of your titles available in Europe?

All of our titles can be shipped to Europe! Some titles are carried by cvp.com in the UK or biofilms.cz in Prague.

Can I order an autographed copy?

Yes, with limitations. Currently, Shot Craft can be ordered personalized. Soon The Director’s Guide to Everything will be able to be personalized.

Are Shot Craft and Lessons from American Cinematographer essentially the same book?

No! They’re quite different! Shot Craft is a compilation of Jay Holben’s educational columns from American Cinematographer and covers a multitude of topics including cameras, lenses, technology, lighting and business/career. Lessons from American Cinematographer is a curated selection of other articles Jay Holben has written for the magazine on movies and television and the specific lessons learned from those cinematographers (some of the greatest in the world!). The two books are a wonderful compliment to each other, indeed, Lessons is a Shot Craft Companion.

These books are expensive! Can I have a discount?

We know… Unfortunately in the world of publishing, to do the quality that we demand, it’s not a cheap endeavor. It’s hard to compete with the prices that the major publishers can do and we serve a more niche audience. While we cannot offer individual discounts, if an educational institution wants to buy 10 or more copies of any particular title, we can offer a special discount code.
